Pluses: Solid build, nice painted finish, comes in six flat panels for easy drilling on a drill press, all steel (except for the aluminum front panel) blocks magnetic fields more efficiently. Minuses: inadequate hardware, esp self tapping sheet metal screws, but holes are perfect size for tapping to use 8-32 machine screws, rack mountable front plate of no use for home hi fi and no option offered, cutouts for IEC socket on wrong side (fuse holder is below socket hole when oriented on left rear vs right rear). Overall a very nice product, I will purchase again for future projects.
I purchased three Pesante cases and they were well packed, quickly shipped at a good price. The quality is quite good, with a great finish and the parts all fit as expected. One thing I would like to see is tapped holes for the top and bottom panel screws instead of sheet metal screws, but that hasn’t caused issues thus far.
Very fast delivery. Nice treatment!
I put my AMB M3 headphone amp board, LDR Volume control, and power supply into a Pesante 2U chassis. I bought the ventilated top and bottom covers because there are three 125ma class A sections. Having holes for the AC socket and fuse help greatly. I will be buying more chassis like this to move additional projects into permanent nice looking cases. Shipping speed and price to USA great too.
The Peasnate 2U is a solid, nicely finished, chassis. The Galaxy 2U I purchased a few months ago seems a bit more refined as it is all aluminum, has extruded sides, and is assembled using nuts and machine screws. The reason for four instead of five stars for the Pesnate is that, as shipped, it requires the use of self taping screws to affix the top and bottom panels. I am not comfortable with this so have threaded the holes to accept machine screws. A real plus for the Pesante is that it’s foot print matches the Deluxe 4U chassis. Thanks DIY Audio and ModuShop!
