I put my AMB M3 headphone amp board, LDR Volume control, and power supply into a Pesante 2U chassis. I bought the ventilated top and bottom covers because there are three 125ma class A sections. Having holes for the AC socket and fuse help greatly. I will be buying more chassis like this to move additional projects into permanent nice looking cases. With the perforated baseplate, this is the most user-friendly enclosure I’ve used. I love the fact that you can take both the top and bottom off to mount things and move stuff around without having to disturb what’s already installed.

I chose the black rack handles, 10mm face plate, and vented top.

The Pesante 2U Chassis came quickly after the initial Order and was received well packed and free of any damage. However, I was a bid upset when I found the extra hole in the rear panel for a fuse holder! They should NEVER have added it for a fuse holder without asking me first! I requested an IEC Socket but no Fuse Holder!

I used this chassis to build a streaming transport to feed my DAC The 10mm silver face plate looks great, and the back and bottom panels drill nicely. There is plenty of room for two linear power supplies, toroidal transformers, computer boards; all very solidly supported. The look fits in well with both commercial gear and all the other amps and preamps I've built from various other DIY Audio Store chassis.

Pluses: Solid build, nice painted finish, comes in six flat panels for easy drilling on a drill press, all steel (except for the aluminum front panel) blocks magnetic fields more efficiently. Minuses: inadequate hardware, esp self tapping sheet metal screws, but holes are perfect size for tapping to use 8-32 machine screws, rack mountable front plate of no use for home hi fi and no option offered, cutouts for IEC socket on wrong side (fuse holder is below socket hole when oriented on left rear vs right rear). Overall a very nice product, I will purchase again for future projects.

I purchased three Pesante cases and they were well packed, quickly shipped at a good price. The quality is quite good, with a great finish and the parts all fit as expected. One thing I would like to see is tapped holes for the top and bottom panel screws instead of sheet metal screws, but that hasn’t caused issues thus far.
