Keratherm Transistor Insulators
- 6 x Kerafol "Keratherm® Red" premium insulators
Problem: You need an easy to use, non-electrically-conducive material between your transistors and heatsinks.
Solution: Keratherm.
Kerafol Keratherm 86/82 is regarded as the best in the business.
The material is silicone and fiberglass impregnated with ceramic. In normal use it can match or even exceed the performance of mica and grease.
Dimensions are 32mm x 23mm, which will fit TO-247, TO-3P, and TO-218. Users can it to fit TO-220 and smaller packages. One side is smoother than the other, and have consulted at length with manufacturer. They advised us that either side can be used in contact with the heatsink or transistor.
We guarantee this is 100% original Keratherm Red sourced from the original manufacturer, Kerafol.
Usage notes:
- Peel the pink "sliver" of Keratherm away from the backing.
- The Keratherm is delicate "pink" colored material
- Do not use thermal grease.
- Be careful to not tear or puncture the Keratherm during installation. Ensure that all all swarf and debris are cleaned from heatsinks and devices.

Sized and cut nicely for TO-220 -- works really well, and "no grease" is really a timesaver for me.
But I bought these for a TO-3 application, and the pads are not sized for that. So, not so good.
Worked very well for a power 15 pin amplifier chip
Far better than mica and goop. No muss, no fuss, and no dirty fingers. I wouldn’t use anything else.
Great product, very fast delivery from the DIYAUDIO store, thanks for making these available.
I have not been able to use them yet, but I am happy to not have to buy them in bulk. Thanks guys!
I was worried that the fets in my F2J were running too hot with generic silicon rubber pads. With these Keratherm pads I have a 25% reduction in case temp of the fets. I can now sleep at night.....
