I built a pair of mofos and these are a joy to listen to. Often I listen to music and think that’s glaring or harsh or not revealing, but not with these. No, instead I am smiling, drawn into the music and pleasantly surprised by what I am hearing. Oh, and it is so simple and doable. So I bought two more sets of boards to build a double mofo. That’s going to be more work, and I am sure it will take me months to complete. I am mofo crazy now.
I built a pair of MOFO’s. The first was a modification of an amp camp amp and the second was a second life for a M2 clone where I used these boards. I really like the sound of the MOFO driven by a variety of tube preamps. Easily more transparent than my F4 clone and M2 clone sans buffer and input transformer.
My issue is the same as previous review, namely the layout of these boards. The mounting holes are way too big for common m3 hardware and the through holes are way too small for 14 or 16 gauge wiring or even for a typical snap fit capacitor for the output. Much easier to just cut some traces on the ACA board and use it instead. Should be an easy relayout for someone to make more similar to the Pass clone boards.
The MOFO is a fine amplifier: organic and rich soundscape, very natural medium range.
Of course, it depends totally on the quality of your preamplifier. Very easy to build, it is sincerely a great satisfaction.

Pcb traces are too thin. If board can be 2mm thickness, will be better. Also, holes for resistors n caps are top small. I cannot even use higher power units.
