A high-voltage, low noise, fully protected regulator for tube circuits
T-reg is a high voltage regulator aimed at tube-level high voltage amplifiers. Diyaudio offers a partial kit for this unit, consisting of the PCB, the high speed opamp, the series pass MOSFET and a current source MOSFET. The PCB comes with pre-installed Constant Current source and reset pushbutton. Other parts are generic and probably in most people’s parts bins or easily available (see BOM).
T-reg can provide an output voltage between 0 (probably less useful) up to 500V, at currents up to 400mA. T-reg accepts input voltages from a transformer/ rectifier/capacitor supply up to a maximum of 500V.
Performance is very good, with less than 10uV broadband noise, and less than 20mΩ output impedance. That means a clean supply that doesn't sag with varying load. The PCB has an on-board heatsink for the pass device, but the pass device can also be mounted on a larger heatsink or on the chassis for high current applications.
Both the output voltage and the current limit can be set by a single resistor. If the current limit is exceeded for more than a fraction of a second, the regulator shuts down to protect itself and the load.
PCB size is approximately 3.1 x 2.3 inch (78 x 58 mm).

Using this regulator to update tube amp power supplies I built a few years ago and in a tube tester project. The literature explaining the circuit is well written so even a hobbyist can understand it. The BOM very helpful. The board assembled easily, is of high quality and worked flawlessly right away. Highly recommend.
Works like a charm!!! Right out of the box... no tweakin or fiddling around.. very stable....All the critical parts included... Rest easily available from any electronic components supplier...
